The Official Poppy Appeal Single 2011

British Army trio The Soldiers’ new single ‘I’ve Gotta Get A Message To You’ features The Bee Gees’ Robin Gibb who co-wrote the number 1 hit in 1968. Hoping to smash the charts again, the song has been announced as the official Armistice (Poppy Appeal) Day 2011 single in aid of The British Legion and The Soldiers Fund. This video is directed by Mike Read and produced by Vintage TV.

Twinwood Festival

The Vintage TV Events Team is proud to bring you the sights and sounds of this year’s spectacular Twinwood Festival. The Ninth in this fabulous annual celebration took place, as always, at the Twinwood Arena and Airfield in Clapham, Bedfordshire. We’re delighted to have marked Vintage TV’s inaugural appearance at vintage gatherings by capturing some of the wonderful people who make this such a splendid occasion every August Bank Holiday Weekend.

Vintage TV at the launch of ‘Mr Music Man’

Vintage TV recently attended the book launch of ’Mr Music Man’, the autobiography from music impresario, Mervyn Conn.

For 23 years, Mervyn Conn promoted the International Country Music Festivals at Wembley in London and in several other European cities. Mervyn introduced the British public to the world's foremost country artists, including Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, George Jones, Willie Nelson, Daniel O'Donnell and many more. His autobiography is a fascinating insight into the workings of the UK music industry from the 1960s Beatles’ Christmas Shows to the present day.

The sound of Vintage TV

Many of our viewers have asked about the jingles which feature on the channel throughout the day. Last summer, we brought a team of highly experienced musicians and producers - led by the accomplished composer, Richard Cottle - to Phoenix Sound, located at Pinewood Studios, to record the channel’s unique musical identity. It was an exciting day, witnessing this superb team create the channel’s unique themes. All of our musical jingles are original compositions inspired by the sounds and songs from those earlier decades.
